This is a large department in the school with a membership of twenty four teachers. The department offers: English, Kiswahili, French and German. The language policy which guides the operations in the
department is the insistence on English, Kiswahili, French and German as the official languages of communication and instruction which has in turn culminated in a sterling performance as captured in
the D.O.S report.

"FormThe department prides itself in the fact that it espouses the values of team work, professionalism and integrity as the outstanding hallmarks of   success. We have embraced lesson observation, team teaching, pool marking, punctual attendance of lessons, timely marking and revision of exam papers. The establishment of external linkages and networking with schools within and outside the county has always exposed our students to a variety of examination and created confidence in our candidates as well as giving them the desire competition.


The world is a stage of competition!

The institution continually sponsors members of the department to capacity building workshops to expose them to the current trends in teaching of the subjects. This has immensely contributed to the broadening of experience thus improving their capacity  to deliver improved results.

In order to improve and strengthen the language skills of the students, the Department lays emphasis on language developing activities such as drama, music (choral verse) and debating. The Journalism,Debating ,French,Kiswahili and German clubs support in this endeavor


Agaist the background of this glamorous picture lies the challenges of sheng’ and mother tongue influence as well as poor background in languages at primary school level. This stands in the way of optimal language acquisition.


It is my hope and desire that the department continues to scale even greater heights in academic performance. A concerted effort of the selfless and hardworking heads of subjects, all other members of the department and other stakeholders will see us on top.
